Samuel H. Slaton was the son of William J. Slaton and Priscilla Emeline (Emeline) Sellers. As such, he was the nephew of my third great grandfather Thomas Fielden Slaton, and the first cousin of my second great grandmother Susan A. Slaton. William J. Slaton was born in Virginia, rather than in Tennessee as indicated on this death certificate.
The informant was William G. Slaton, son of Samuel H. Slaton. It's interesting that William G. Slaton didn't know his grandmother's name. William G. Slaton was born about 1899. Perhaps Priscilla Emeline (Emeline) Sellers died before William G. Slaton was born, or when he was still very young.
