(son of Thomas Lane and J. Nancy) was born on 1 Sep 1881 in Tennessee.169 His WWI draft card says that
he was born on 1 Sep 1878. Other sources give a later date. For example, the
1900 census says that Lester was born in Sep 1881. The 1880 census for the family
is inconclusive. Lester was not listed. However, in 1880 there was a son named
Buck who was eight months old and born in September. That would mean that Buck
was born in Sep 1879. Buck does not appear in the 1900 census. It seems at
least possible that Lester and Buck were the same person. (RGB)
