in 1869 rather than 1870 as indicated by the family records of William Jackson

Elizabeth Cate Manly gives Mattie's birth date as 12 Sep 1869, but census data
persuade me that Mattie was born in 1868. (RGB)

was understated by about 6 years.
She died on 26 Nov 1902 in Greeley, Weld County, Colorado.179 According to William Burr Harrison III, Mattie died
in Greeley, Colorado when Mayme Lee Harrison was about eight years old. But
Mattie's death records suggests that she died about two years earlier, when Mayme
was about six years old.
She was buried about 28 Nov 1902 in Linn Grove Cemetery, Greeley, Weld County,
Colorado. There is no stone. She is buried in Block X, Lot 18, Space
7.

first child was her husband's daughter from his first marriage. The census enumerator
incorrectly attributed both children to Martha Ellen Elmore.
