It may have been a simple enumeration error. More likely, the ages for William
Bryan age 74 and W. E. Bryan age 40 were reversed. The 74 year
old man was William Enyard Bryan, and the 40 year old man was William

He was buried on 3 Jan 1928 in Bryan-Drinnen-Cate Cemetery, Sevier County,
Tennessee. His casket was carried by a horse drawn hearse according
to William Jackson Bryan, who attended the funeral.
The fact that he was called Will Bryan rather than William or Bill is from
family oral history as provided to me by Robert E. Bryan. The only record I
have found that lists his given name as Will is the 1920 census. (RGB)
